About the event

Do you know a Class of 2024 graduate that needs with their plans after high school? "Momma I Don't Want to Go to College" Skills and Trade Expo strives to expose elementary & middle schoolers to post high school careers & connect young adults, ages 16-30, and their families to current job openings; college support; internship and/or apprenticeship opportunities; industry certification opportunities; on-the-job training, and career services for positions available in high demand skills and trade industries.

We are still honoring the life and legacy of Nipsey Hussle's "Too big to fail" approach to economic-development and wealth building. Charlotte and surrounding areas, Let's paint our city "Nipsey Blue" and celebrate the rise in technical and blue-collar skilled jobs and #successwithoutdebt!

This is your opportunity to meet with vendors and enjoy live entertainment and performances! This is a family-friendly event! Some vendors will be hiring on the spot!

Ideal vendors are businesses, agencies, or companies:

*offer Apprenticeships?

*offer Paid training opportunities?

*offer Certification/Skills training programs (2 years or less)?

*offer On-the-job training opportunities?

*offer Funding to pay for individuals to access Skills and Trade training programs?

*promote Child & Family stability?

*offer opportunities for Veterans, persons living with disabilities, Felons/Criminal backgrounds?

*have a mission for crime intervention/prevention?

Vendor tables are for businesses that can offer 1) Skills or trades training programs; 2) Paid internships; 3) Apprenticeships; on-the-job training
